Over the academic year, JACFA organizes a variety of social events to bring
teachers together informally outside their departments and programs.
We also contribute financial support for events organized by departments
that are open to all faculty, such as book launches, art exhibitions,
tea parties, etc...

Faculty Lounge Policy
The premises and facilities of the Faculty Lounge are for college-related
special receptions and social events only and, of course, a nice place to
relax when not reserved by a specific group.
These social events could include: Retirement Celebrations, Book Launches,
Art Exhibits, Soup Lunches, etc.
JACFA will refuse bookings for meetings, interviews, classes, information sessions, university promotions, focus groups, or any events with guest speakers.
The lounge is available by reservation for the use of faculty or staff members
of John Abbott College.
The lounge is expected to be left in the same condition that you found it
(dishes are washed, furniture is put back, art work is put back, etc.)
For academic departments who wish to organize events that are open to all
faculty, JACFA will contribute 50% of the cost up to a maximum of $150.00.
