Heather Short


                Short in the fieldHeather has a BA (Honors) degree in Geology from Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY (1994), an MSc in Geology from the University at Albany, State University of New York (1999) and a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences from the University of Maine, Orono (2006).

Her research interests include the development of small-scale and microstructures in large-scale shear zones, and their use as strain and vorticity gauges. Present funding from the FQRNT is for a project researching the timing of metamorphism and deformation in the Abitibi subprovince of Quebec.


Heather has taught at John Abbott College since January 2007. She is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences, McGill University.
